FAQ: Can I give my marathon entry to someone else? Can I get a refund?

Please note:

No swapping, no substituting, and no name changes are allowed.

This is for your safety and insurance cover — medical teams rely on your registered details in case of an emergency.

Running under someone else’s name is dangerous and against Athletics Zambia rules.

Anyone caught doing so will be disqualified and may be potentially banned from future events.

Can’t run anymore?

Refunds (less a small admin fee) are available if requested before 24th April.

Step 2:

Book your lodging

There are a number of lodges around Solwezi, but rooms tend to sell out quickly. Make your bookings early to avoid disappointment! Please note that lodge bookings are done directly between lodges and participants: the event organizers are not involved in any bookings. All lodging issues or concerns must be taken up with the lodges themselves.

Step 3:

Collect your race pack

Pick up Time & location:

Get ready for race day! Make sure to collect your race number and goodie bag ahead of the Kansanshi Marathon 2025!

Thursday, 1st May: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Friday, 2nd May: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
What to Bring for Collection:
Email or printout of your ticket from Tessera, including the reference number
Proof of payment
No collection on race day! Be sure to collect your race pack in advance.
RACE BIB COLLECTION & SWAPPING RULES
A written consent letter is required to collect a race bib on someone else’s behalf.
No race bib swapping is allowed.
Any participant found swapping race bibs will be disqualified immediately.
These rules are enforced in accordance with Athletics Zambia regulations.
Ensure compliance to avoid disqualification. Fair play is key!

PARKING SPACES ARE LIMITED. TAKE THE KANSANSHI MARATHON BUS IF POSSIBLE.

RACE DAY ENTRANCE INFO!
To enter Trident College on race day, please ensure you have the following:
Runners & Participants: Must display your wristband or race bib for entry.
Wristbands must be securely fastened on your wrist—loose or unfastened wristbands will not be accepted.
VIP Guests: Must display their VIP wristbands for access.
Normal card access holders will be allowed entry as usual.
No race pack collections will be available at the gate on race morning! Ensure you collect yours in advance to avoid disappointment.
Avoid delays at the gate! Make sure you have everything prepared well in advance for a smooth entrance.
